Crispy Spicy Chicken Wings
Ingredients:
1.5kg chicken wings
2 Tablespoons Sea Salt
Juice of 1 lemon
2 finely sliced onions
3 Tablespoons Honey
2 Tablespoons Soy Sauce
2 Teaspoons Brown Sugar
1 Teaspoon Chilli Paste
2 Tablespoons Hoisin Sauce
1 Teaspoon Paprika
Slithered Almonds
3-4 Tablespoons Olive Oil
2 cups Cornflour (Corn Starch)
Method:
Coat the chicken wings in the cornflour (corn starch) thoroughly, and cook until golden in the heated olive oil.
While
the chicken is browning, combine all other ingredients (except the
onions and slithered almonds) in a saucepan, and gently heat until all
of the flavours are combined.
Once golden, place the chicken in a
shallow casserole dish, and sprinkle the finely chopped onions and
slithered almonds over top of the chicken, and spoon the marinade over
the chicken.
Cook in a preheated oven at 160°C for about one hour, or until chicken is cooked through.
